Jay
Quite an old scam, I findit incredible that some people can be taken in by it.http://www.419scam.org/emails/2010-02/19/01012842.1.htm
Mr Coeur de Lion
And those people that are taken in by it have the right to vote too. Scary.
Gardener
I have started to have a spate of these recently, but this is the first one purporting to be from an MP. But then again you never know with these Tories ;)
fisherman
Unfortunately some people are especially older folk who grew up in perhaps was a more trusting time. I know of a friend of ma-in-law (80+) who received a phone call purporting to be from the police. They said that they were tracking fake notes or some such thing and asked her to draw £900 from an ATM machine and take it to a place in town. She did – nobody turned up, I guess it was a tester to see if she was being followed. Anyway she was then plagued with telephone calls asking for money. Thankfully the (real) police are now involved so she should be OK.
