CSV
LINK4 agents of the French secret service were trying to remain discreet as they stayed in a Limoges hotel. The owner became suspicious of their actions and they failed to return the room keys to reception [6] each time they left the hotel (they had 'equipment' in their room)So the owner locked them in the hotel and called the police [:D][:D]

Cendrillon
Friends once stayed in a small hotel where there was a notice saying keys should be left at the desk when they left the hotel. They did this, went out for dinner and returned quite late only to find the hotel all locked up and there was no way they could the gain access. They ended up paying for a night in a more expensive place. Next day they were told about the 10p.m. curfew no refund was made and I think the leaving of keys notice was aimed at those checking out of the hotel. idun
That nearly happened to us when we stayed in the Bourgogne, and would have done if we had not mentioned that we were dining with friends and would be back late. We were interogated and you'd think that we were committing some sort of crime. Very reluctantly they let us have a key and were under instruction to be very quiet. We have stayed in a number of french hotels over the years that were so silent after 10pm that it felt creepy, especially for me who is a night owl.
