Ah! Poo-Pooing! A dreadful thing to do, JE! And very dangerous!

I once heard about a whole regiment literally destroyed by Poo-pooing! Morale gone! Moral fibre vanished!

Never underestimate the danger of poo-pooing, JE!

(With apols to Ben Elton, Richard Curtis and Steven Fry).

[quote user="powerdesal"]Bridge over troubled waters.    very meaningful.

Back in the good old days, when musicians were musicians and bands played instruments, great buddy of mine was a semi-pro folk musician and also worked for his agent.

His boss told him to report to Heathrow and pick up a young guitarist, harp player and singer ("Harp" in this context does not mean one of those bloody great curved things you don't take to parties, it means  harmonica.) and bring him to London to start his tour of the folk clubs.

For the next few weeks, David my mate, ran this young lad around the clubs for his gigs; some of which David was also playing. As Dave put it, this young shy lad with a guitar in a case and a duffle bag over his shoulder and wearing a pair of Levis which he wore for three weeks arrived; played and astounded us all.

Eventually, the agent told David to take this lad back to the airport.

David said "Are you mad? He's a genius! Sign him! Now!"

No, the agent wasn't impressed.

So,  David took Paul Simon back to Heathrow and waved goodbye................................ and then met Art Garfunkle.

One bit of trivia; the song Homeward Bound, "Waiting on a railway station............" was written by Paul Simon whilst waiting for a train at either Harold Wood or Shenfield station, on the London Liverpool Street to Southend Victoria Line.

Except the Web Ref says:

"Some fans are probably aware that their idol may not have written the lyrics at this particular station.

When Paul Simon was homeward bound after a gruelling tour of Britain in September 1964, Widnes had two stations.

WCI lecturer Stephen Wainwright, said: "The new plaque is the culmination of intensive research that our four students conducted in investigating the Paul Simon story. Although it is debatable whether Simon actually wrote 'Homeward Bound' at Widnes station, the plaque has returned to its spiritual home."

I'll stick with Dave![kiss]

Nice to see you back dear FK, and it's not only your back we're seeing.  I'm not much good at singing, so instead I send you this as I know how much you love him.   [:P]

No, I don't know what has happened to Mrs. Tresco.  Maybe she finally found a ploughman, not the right time of year though is it.

Yes, that's a sad one Pads.  Can anyone remind me of the name of that Italian singer with such a marvellous voice, goes right through you.  He's heavy built and sometimes wears a cap. He had a beautiful song a few years ago that was played a lot and if I was sad about something, I could hardly bear to hear it.

Frenchie, while you're around I've got another name for you to find.  [:P]   Have a look on the Bowie clip above and see right at the beginning, just a quick view, who is on it.  She was with Bowie years ago and is often now on French television, "les Grosses Têtes" et tout ça.

This was quite something   http://youtube.com/watch?v=h4yjbsYCupQ Barcelona with Freddie Mercury.

Yes, don't forget to visit Mrs. Gupta and her fake cats  Frenchie !

You couldn't have given me a better present. You won't believe this, but earlier on I wanted to put this song on of Dido, but couldn't remember her name (and didn't dare ask! [6]  [:$] [:P] ).  As FK says, songs remind you of things and when I hear this one, White Flag, it takes me back to Summer 2003, swinging round the ten roundabouts at Tours with the Xantia full of cats and dogs on our move down here from the Perche.  I love her voice.
