When I first heard it I had mixed feelings about it but I warmed to it after clicking on the lyrics. The first couple of times I listened to it I couldn't understand a word of it. I heard it first on the radio then I looked it up on the Toob and selected a different version without the old soldiers. Then I went back to it and selected the Old Soldier version which is where I saw the lyrics at "more info", just as you did.Have just watched a programme about Harry Patch and now think I understand the reason behind the high pitched singing at the start of Motorhead's song.
