cb50
Does anyone have recent experience if the Soc Gen CB Visa Debit card can be used in other Euro countries without charges for:1. Normal spending in outlets2. Cash withdrawalsMany thanksColin
andyh4
I cannot speak for the particular card, but EU regulations mean that you cannot be charged more in one Euro country than any other.I would check the terms and conditions of the card to see if it can be used in other countries - I would be surprised if it cannot - and also what the limits of use are - daily/weekly maximum, maximum cash withdrawal etc. These can be different for other countries and with my cards are certainly more restrictive. andyh4
Just to add. Remember that you will be charged for cash withdrawals when using another bank other than your own.
Daft Doctor
Hi andyh4, not sure that is correct. Certainly I have withdrawn cash in both Spain and Italy using CB's from 2 different French banks and have never suffered any charges whatsoever for the privilege. Would suggest the OP checks the T&C's of her account to be sure.
Chancer
I get charged if I make more than two withdrawals a month from other banks in France [:(] It would not surprise me if C.A. considered C.A. branches in other départements to be another bank and to charge me for the priveledge. mint
What you say about CA is absolutely correct. When we lived in the Charente Maritime and were with CA, our account was only good for the Charente Maritime and Deux Sevres. Dealings with all other branches were treated and charged for as though they were with another bank altogether.
