Miki
Well I quite enjoyed the programme and I learned a little more than I knew an hour ago about him.
DZ
I completely forgot how much I liked his music - I am just going to tell my 14-year-old to download some Cat Stevens to check it out (he might even like it!).
KathyC
And I feel even more justified in replacing all my Cat Stevens albums with CDs bought on Ebay. His was the only concert I queued up to buy tickets for, God it was cold at 4am in Drury Lane.

Instead I went to bed, if that was not a waste of time! when I could have been watching Cat! ... Got to have his new album.. anyone seen it anywhere on sale yet?... Is that program repeated or available on internet?...
Miki
I forgot, what with all the guests getting in the way of my goggle box viewing !The new album comes out in the Autumn and on the Polydor label. I didput this on once while back but it might have been elsewhere ! Tina has been singing all morning, it ain't pretty (not like Twinklessinging !) but the words appear to be in the right order ! He sang afew lines from a couple of songs from the new album and it wascertainly in the old style. As the programme was on BBC, there isa good chance it will be repeatedbefore long on one of the other BBC channels, not sure about the net.Lots of stuff of course on the net including his own excellent website but this was a good piece in the Independant about Yusufhttp://enjoyment.independent.co.uk/music/news/article485922.ece
Dick Smith
I was amazed at how young his voice still is. I bought the collection album a few years back, and it was my favourite listening for a while, but I wasn't a huge fan when he was active - more into the likes of King Crimson and Jethro Tull... Maybe having nearly 30 years off, means the voice simply starts up again where it left off !! Mmmm wonderwhat I would sound like now then ! He has a stage musical underconstruction at the moment, marking his progess through to hisMuslim faith.

[:-))]What about Be Bop Deluxe??!! We went to Edinburgh to see Bill Nelson, last year & it was brilliant!!Edit: Just told Mark about this thread & his wee face lit up like a light!! Dick Smith
I was at King Crimson's first gig (the Stones free concert in Hyde Park) and saw Tull at UCL a couple of months after they started performing, so can claim to be a ground-level fan!I bought the first 2 KC albums, and sort of lost interest (all Frippery!) but Tull lasted a lot longer - my kids took me to a concert on (I think) my 45th birthday. My 50th was His Immaculate Bobness.
