Gardian
I don't watch much television, certainly not in the Summer anyway. However, last night I thought I'd catch up on the news and turned BBC1 about 5 mins before the news was due to start. To my lasting regret, I caught the last few minutes of some ghastly programme about the 'Sound of Music'. It seemed to be a TV audition for the Julie Andrews role: Andrew Lloyd Webber looked to be in as much pain as me as he agonised over his decision as to which one to chuck out. Then, all of the hopefuls did an 'Auf Wiedersehn, Goodbye' number for the 'unlucky' one, which made my toes curl up with embarrassment. Actually, she was the lucky one, because she won't have to go through umpteen more weeks of them seeing somebody off. Quite the most horrible thing I've witnessed (even 5 mins of it) since ............ , well actually ever.

Rosebud
my mum's been following this back in the UK. She says it's compulsive viewing, if only to laugh at poor Lloyd Webbers pained expressions! Do you think he was fully informed about what he was letting himself in for...?!
Russethouse
Just wait until we get to the end and ALW realises he is obligated to actually employ the person the public, not him, choose [:)]
