Teamedup
Since I have lived in France, right from the beginning I have believed that I am from a nation of physically violent people. My belief in this has never waivered either.I have said before that I used to be frightened when I first got to France as people would be argueing angrily at the dinner table and their arms would be going right left and centre. Too loud, too many demonstrative shows of disagreement. And it was all brash and show and everyone was friends afterward. Where I am from we don't do that. IF a person shows that they are up for a fight, then likely they will get one, so they don't as a general rule have such an agressive demeanour. [:)] But sometimes it erupts, it doesn't shock me. I know someone who was beaten up recently by a big gang in France. Voilence is everywhere. I just think that deep down, there it is a sleeping dragon in english people.
