Gluestick
A very sad day for British Jazz and wit.An incredibly talented man, whose appeal lasted for so very long. After Melly and Humph, few of the true eccentrics are now left; more's the pity.[:(]
Russethouse
Do you think we should have a special game of Mornington Crescent to mark his passing ?
Quarmby
Yes, but remember that re-doubling west of Hyde Park is forbidden in April.

Gardian
They played several excerpts of his Quiz Game on the radio this morning and I was still chuckling an hour or so later. None of us are immortal, but you'd wish it for someone like him. Something about the "38B's" - I couldn't even begin to tell the joke, let alone get the timing right. You'll all be happy to know that I pee'd at the adjacent urinal to Humph some 40 yrs ago at a pub in London. Memories!A sad passing, but in a way not. He was still playing, as recently as last week. A repeat broadcast at 12.00 GMT on R4 tomorrow (Sun). Martin963
There is a game going on at the moment on Digital Spy, Radio section, a tribute both to the idea and to the degree of seriousness with which listeners take the whole thing.http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=786246Samantha has to slip out for a while, she's agreed to go out with some fishermen on their boat and learn a few tricks of the trade. She's particularly looking forward to helping to toss the buoys over the side of the boat.
