Christine Animal
I expect a lot of you had heard of her, but I never had. She has just died aged ninety-eight, what a lady.Irena Sendler, a Polish woman who saved thousands of Jewish children during World War Two by smuggling them out of the Warsaw Ghettohttp://www.irenasendlerfilm.com/
Clair
I read about her this morning in this article: Female Schindle Irene Sendle who saved thousands of Jewish children dies"Every child saved with my help is the justification of my existence on this Earth, and not a title to glory"Very humbling
Dick Smith
Thanks for posting that, I'd never heard of her. What a remarkable woman - Righteous Among The Nations - arrested and tortured by the Gestapo - and she lost out on a Nobel Peace Prize to Al Gore. Says a lot about changing priorities, but hers were fundamental.
powerdesal
What a fantastic woman, and what smiling eyes she had in the telegraph article photo.
Cendrillon
Very humbling and what courage she must have had, how many of us would have dared to do the same?
