pouyade
Have wonderful stoves in France but does anyone have a recommendation for a supplier and installer of wood-burning stoves or inserts in UK? I am having difficulty finding more than one who will cover the Maidenhead area. I am after a firm who will supply and fit. Have done the google thing! Many thanks in advance as ever,Pouyade

pouyade
Thx. That is the firm who are local - I'm sure they are ok but have a reputation as very pricey. Doesn't seem to be any competition though!Pouyade
Will
Things are done a bit differently in Britain. I would advise starting at www.hetas.co.uk to find a competent and registered installer; there seems to be a good selection in your area. Some of these may supply stoves too, others will install stoves that you have bought from a specialist supplier, of which there are also many in Britain. cooperlola
Will has a point. When I found that company on the net there were also several who will deliver nationwideHERE, HERE and HERE for example Thus, if you find a local installer (it isn't rocket science and many heating engineers can do this) then you could save yourself a bob or two. Russethouse
There is a reasonable place in Prospect Street, Caversham. I suspect they would come to Maidenhead.I have visited Country Stoves (My mother lives in the immediate vicinity) While they may be expensive they have a solid reputation, have been in business a long time and were selling wood burning stoves long before it was really fashionable..........whether they are value for money only you can say
KathyF
A word of warning about buying and then finding someone to fit. We did just that when we found a bargain and then had difficulty getting a registered installer to come and install. Many are linked with supply companies and don't want to miss out on the commission if you buy your stove elsewhere. I would suggest getting a local installer sorted out before buying your stove.
