woody234
In january the US citizens got $800 tax rebate to boost their economy and $200 billion to rescue freddie and fanny which own half of all US mortgages and this week spain citizens get 400 euros tax rebate to boost their economy, and what does the working UK citizen get, discounts on products to insulate homes but no discounts on the actual gas and electricity bills and free central heating installation for some pensioners but then they will have an extra bill for the gas that the centrall heating uses so more profits for the energy suppliers, why dont the UK citizens get a tax rebate like spain and the US does so people can use it to pay some of the gas and electric bills
giantpanda
Hi!What are you suggesting? In France there are tax rebates galore to boost the economy.eg. in saving energy by acquiring system fitted by firms, not only with tax kick-back but special VAT rates.Or for example the CESU ( Chèque emploi service universel), or the ( recent ) reduced taxation of extra working hours.....Yours,giantpanda
Sunday Driver
I think he's complaining that UK pensioners who receive a free new central heating system and a winter fuel allowance to offset the running costs are worse off than the Spanish who get 400€......
