CBC
I like to use ads in class, too, but have only used one formula so far. Could you possibly share one or two of your ideas? My students are university age, but not linguists, so of mixed ability in English ....Many thanks in anticipation.A rather brain-dead CBC (despite it only being mid-September!!) Frenchie
Oh Yes, of course!!I like the idea of exchanging documents, I'm always looking for stuff, whether videos or texts, articles..Currently I 'm looking for documents about the effects of global warming in the future, and also about addictions. I used the follwing ad with my BTS ( post graduates) last year http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=ieSzsh4hJWIthis one too http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=wx12ty2q2FcI will probably think of some others
tegwini
KrustyMany thanks, really clever advert. I shall probably use it in my teaching. Thought the soldiers marching off was quite sad. Lost a granddad in WWI.Strangely, I haven't seen it yet on TV.RegardsTegwini

CBC
I like the Coke ad and the Renault one is great, isn't it? I was thinking more of how to exploit the material. I've done storyboard activity with ads (especially some good ones on the Mad for Ads series by Nathan), but could with some suggestions for other activities. Re. global warming, have you looked at this: http://www.filmeducation.org/aninconvenienttruth/index.html ? Sorry if it's old hat. I also came across http://www.tuneintoenglish.com/ recently, not sure how useful it will be.Bye for nowCBC

valB
I love this advert as with the normal rubbish on TV lately with all the phone in cons, this is so clever and refreshing. I also thoght it was a good movie starting as they are in short supply as well.
