Does nobody proof read anymore?

Reminds me of the story, that proved apocryphal, about the trade exibitions held in various countries for the power generation industry. They were known as Powergen, followed by the country or city name - e.g. PowergenFrance (true so far).

Nobody (allegedly) realised until it was too late that the show to be held in Turin had been christened PowergenItalia.

You should have heard the weatherman on BBC Radio Four yesterday. He was highly uncomplimentary about the likely weather at the Glastonbury Festival he said it would be shite.

He managed to finish the weather report choking back laughter.

Or when the mighty Wang computer corporation (now part of Ford I think) bought up an existing firm in Baisingstoke.  The corporate policy when answering the 'phone was to say  'Wang' followed by the location e.g. 'Good morning, Wang Baisingstoke'  So far so good.

Problem was, the European head office was located on Cologne..........

Probably only funny in English [:D]
