Kong
We run a B&B and are registered with URSSAF. We pay quarterly cotisations. We have received our avis d'impot and are being charged CSG, CRDS etc on the imposable part of our b&b turnover. Are we paying social charges twice or are the payments to URSSAF not the same social charges? In previous years we have not been charged social charges on this income. suein56
Payments to URSSAF are for health cover and social security cover.Contributions sociales - csg etc are an extra tax, over and above income tax, usually on bank interest and other investment income.Someone with more knowledge of running a bnb will be along soon I'm sure. Kong
Thank you Sue.A bit more research and it seems contributions to URSSAF include CSG and CRDS along with Health and Social Security. See para 2 on this site: https://www.auto-entrepreneur.fr/regime-social/charges-sociales.html. Therefore we shouldn't have been charged conts on the ME part of our income, only on such things as interest on savings, dividends etc. I think my tax office has got it wrong.. I'll update when I have a resolution!
EuroTrash
I think you are correct, Kong. ME cotisations definitely include CSG and CRDS.I am not a B&B but I am a micro entrepreneur, I make a quarterly payment covering my cotisations and also income tax at the flat rate, and when I get my avis I don't have anything else to pay on this income. EuroTrash
It's a non-commercial activity and I opted to pay flat rate tax so my earnings go in box 5TE.

Kong
Well after 10 message exchanges online with the impots We finally had an acknowledgement indicating we were right and it was apparent that the previous responses had missed the points we were trying to make. The last response was the first to have a name attached and a title 'principal controller'The moral - if you think they've got it wrong persevere!!! Too true .. well done ☺Especially well done for persevering .. it's not easy, especially when you are not 100% sure that you are totally right .. as has happened to me in the past.
