FOOTBALL INSIGNIA

Presumably some football nut in Archant (who own london24.com) thought that people living in France would share his sad passion for London football clubs.

Hey, if you're listening NO WE DON'T

Mods, please please tell them to get rid of it, it's an offence to the eye [+o(]
Looks like a bunch of amateurs running this site. If you are going to make a change you test it before releasing it.
It looks, to me, like the ad revenue team got hold of the style sheets ...and have efficiently increased the number of ads on the forum pages:  For even greater economy neither a designer or proof-reader was consulted. However, I do love a good conspiracy theory...

Could it be a clever new marketing strategy, aimed at circumventing the mental ad filters we all develop..?

The coloured banner will soon be no more noticable than the Google ad strip down the right-hand side of the page.  Of course, while we get used to it, and because it spans some useful info on the page, we may accidentally click on it a few times. [6]
