krusty
For those who enjoy this Lancashire delight my local super U has started selling them along with birds eye steak and kidney pies and richmond pork sausages in their freezer section.I never usually bother with the English section in supermarkets , (prices way over the top). But I just had meat pie and chips and it was good , so I thought I would share my find with you.Its funny how the brand of pies in the UK is regional ....Hollands = Lancashire .......Pukka = to the south . Do you know of any others ?
Frederick
At least they managed to get them to your Super U ..Krusty Kerry Foods have recently dumped 3 tons of pies over 100 pallets destined for supermarkets in an infill site at Poole we learned today. It seems they have to get to the supermarkets in a 8 day window because of sell by dates and bad weather meant that the 8 days would not be met .. 3 Tons is a lot of pies ...Steak and kidney and other pastries ... Full storey is on Bournemouth Echo siteGinsters pasties they do our way the big ones ..they are nice !

powerdesal
Hollands pies are very very good but their S & K puds are awesome. The absolute best pasties were made by the Bolton Pasty Shop, alas I believe it has been gone for many years. Lunchtime queues out of the shop and down the road were a daily sight.

Weedon
Any pies will do for me, but these are about the only thing I bring back from the UK now....not my favourite but they can keep for donkeys years if needs be. It's probably what is inside the steak ones.[:-))] Nice crust though, Krust. My mate Sasha loves the tops to the puds.
