mogs
Basically we were allowed to offset our daughter at Uni with the unjustifiable allowance. In July 2018 she finished her masters (with a great pass) and so returned home. She became independent and found a flat so moved out.How do we mark the change on the impot form for the last tax year?online there is a box to tick for change of situation, but all I can see is for marriage, divorce, new birth, so nothing that meets our situation.Any suggestions please how to let them know. I did email them last year and their reply said to wait until this year.
suein56
Online .. in your personal tax account .. there is a way to send a private message to the online tax people which is then relayed to your own tax office. I did this just before last Xmas and received an immediate, automated, email reply, followed some days later by an email reply from my own tax office saying my email had been received by them and the contents were being treated. mint
Yes, good suggestion. I have used this service on a number of occasions and the replies have been detailed and rapid.
BritinBretagne
Surely the tax return that you returned last year was for 2017. Presumably you will be asked about changes in 2018 this year.
EuroTrash
As BinB says. You haven't made a declaration for 2018 yet. That is no doubt why they told you to wait until this year.
suein56
But the messages I keep getting from the tax people about prélėvement à la source say to tell them about any changes asap.
mogs
Yes it's for changes last year which needs to be changed when declaring this year for 2018.'re the prelevement de source, if you don't have French employment, how will it work? Should we start this now?
mint
Don't worry, mogs. They'll take a monthly amount based on your last declaration from the account you have registered with them.Look, if you are so worried, why don't you just write a message to them on your secured messagerie and put your questions to them? From my own experience, they WILL reply and, at the very least, you will know that you have done your best to sort this issue out.
mogs
Yes probably best. I'll have to do a Google translation though, which often isn't great.

Cathar Tours
I can tell you that my father used to make three payments a year. Because they have his bank details they now take about 70 Euros per month and I guess he pays the balance (difference between actual tax bill and what he has paid to date) at the end of the year. For him it works better this way. It was worked out on the three payments they took last year against the 2017 bill.

mogs
Just an update: they replied with what I thought, just don't put her on the tax forms as she will be doing her own this year.As for the prelevement de source, they didn't answer that one.
