Gardian
I just heard Carly Simon on Wogan's lunchtime radio show. Excruciating & embarrassing.[blink]Just a few thoughts on singers who have either 'lost it' at the end of their careers, or who IMO have still got it. I hasten to add, this is setting aside whether I ever liked them or their style - it's about whether they kept going too long.Lost it: Sinatra, Andy Williams, Carly SimonStill got it: Bassey, Tony Bennett, Neil Sedaka, Cleo LaineAny more? Russethouse
I'm a big fan of Carly Simons music, I have her latest CD and really like it but there it ends - I can't why she is flogging around promoting it - I doubt she'll gain a whole lot of new fans and could lose some old ones. Better to stick to recording now and forget all the promotion hoopla
Judie
Did anyone see her on the One Show? I'm sure she'd had a few then. She kept droning on and had to be cut short several times which she didn't take kindly to.What a shame

I can't stand any of your "still got it", but quite like all but Rod Stewart of your "lost it" list. It's oh, so personal, you know....

Russethouse
I quite like Rod Stewart, (again I have his last CD) could stand Cliffs earlier stuff (Travelling Light has a special place in my affections) but I thought Andy Williams performance on Strictly was just dreadful, I was embarrassed for him [:$]

woolybanana
Norman is said to be a great Cliff Richard fan, goes to the concerts, even has clothes from the epoch!
cooperlola
Still got it : Fairport Convention. Three of them now in their 60s but boy can they still play and sing.I have two albums by women singers made "in their prime" and both have changed almost beyond recognition in the voice department but are still superb - it's about heart and soul, not just technique:Melanie Safka and Joni Mitchell.
