idun
Watched french news the other night and if the impots locaux is being stopped/diminished then local councils are getting their money by taxing abri jardin etc. And it was quite a lot, one lady had a bill for 800€.Anyone else got an unexpected unwelcome bill for their outhouses etc.
woolybanana
It has been discussed for sometime. I think that the rule used to be that if it did not have a foundation to which it was attached then it could not be taxed. Hence the French lovemof wooden sheds.BUT that could have changed. Thus far, cross fingers, no extra bills.
Chancer
I have been paying £75 per month for a garden shed in the UK since 2007. That is to say additional to the Council tax for the main house and garden where it stands. Would be 25% more but for single occupancy. Slough Council and those around Heathrow are missing out on millions. In my case it was not unexpected, unwelcome but I was and still am happy to pay it. idun
https://www.francetvinfo.fr/politique/gouvernement-d-edouard-philippe/impots-ces-abris-de-jardin-qui-coutent-cher_3211925.htmlThis is what I saw, and the link should be live. When I was trying to find this link, it was interesting, as for a pool, the tax is €200 per m2 and 10€ a panneau for solaire panels. woolybanana
Yet another State ripoffWhat about climbing frames, awnings, fruit cages, there is much potential still. The Belgians once tried to tax computer monitors in offices.
mint
What about dog kennels? Perhaps, if they were to tax those, people would let their dogs into their houses to be proper members of the family instead of being left outdoors in all weathers[6]
