NickP
So 3 MP's who are going on trial accused of stealing our money are getting legal aid to fight the charges. Wonderful coincidence that the law wasn't changed in time for them not to be allowed to claim free legal assistance. Old Etonian "Call me Dave" says he will change the law if he gets in , "Middle class" Gordon says labour will grab money back. Oink oink, the UK will soon be covered in pig poo as the said animals all take to the sky. [:D] [:D]
Quillan
Asked about the case during a phone-in on BBC Radio Derby, Mr Brown said: "I think this money will have to be paid back by these politicians".Sadly thinking is something he does not do particularly well. This whole sorry saga for me has gone from the "I don't believe it" through stupid to now just plain incompetence. How much damage the whole expenses scandal has done to British politics I don't know, we will have to wait till after the elections and the voting statistics become known. My guess, or feeling, is that its helped make the election more of a 'turn off' to perspective voters than normal but we shall see.
Dog
I wonder how they picked that court one of the few in an area still offering legal aid?I read an article the other day that the Tories had most Masons in their present or potential parliamentary candidates. Russethouse
How many of the last Tory administration remain in the proposed team ?The electorate can have short memories, I don't remember the Callaghan government with particular affection, but Blair was elected. I think we've had a Labour government long enough and although there are reasons may one want them to stay or go, overall there is a feeling of 'its time for change' IMHO, though I suspect it will be a close run thing. Remember masons work for themselves primarily and support royalty who haven't the slightest interest in the ordinary person and live off them in palaces.Just look at recent posts and question the masonic position from the ultra right wing despising left wing views. Will
Didn't most of it go into second homes (for ducks as well as the MPs) and their furnishing and redecoration, or travel and entertaining expenses, before any government got its hands on it? Gluestick
Cameron of course, is a senior Dragon in the Sepulchre of Oriental Wizards. In fact, Dog, Blair is a 299 1/3 degree mason and a secret member of the Hidden Nights of Scheherezade: of which, of course, the Pope is the Grand Poobah and Vizier: both the Pope and Blair are also members of the secret inner cavern of the Illuminati: together with the Father General of the Society of Jesus (The Jesuits). Now St. Ignatius Loyola, the founder of the Jesuits was a trustee of the keys and inner secrets of not only the Illuminati, but also he was the Prior of Sion. Worse, both Blair and the Pope are secret members and Directors General of the Bilderberg Conspiracy Conclave: and furthermore, these dastardly villains are the secret coordinators of Davos and aliens, to boot! Their secret and heinous conspiracy plan is to exterminate all human life forms on the planet and promote ants to take over the World! Now this is mainly since Blair and the Pope are alien life forms who actually resemble ants: and thus have far more in common with Hymenoptera than Homo Sapiens. As I write, they are assembling secret Formic Acid plants all over the globe, disguised as Oil Refineries and Petro-Chemical Plants: and when the secret signal is given, all humanoids will be poisoned by adding lethal doses of Formic Acid to common food stuffs and drinking water reservoirs! It’s true, I tell you! I read it on David Icke’s website and in a book by the celebrated intellectual genius, Dan Brown! [:D]
Weedon
Well if all of that is true Gluey, bluebells may be our secret weapon. You know those big anthills you find in the woods in the UK? The ones that if you shove a stick into them it comes alive with thousands of huge ants and big white ants eggs, well...if you poke a bluebell flower into it the ants attack the flower and it gradually turns pink. It's quite true as I used to astound my grandchildren with this discovery. It must be the acid the ants inject the flower with. All you have to do if you see Blair, Brown or Clegg...or even the Queen. Shout out "DO YOU LIKE BLUEBELLS?" rather in the way the chap called out to the memory man on stage in the film The 39 Steps. "Where are the 39 steps?" Or perhaps shove a bluebell in their mouths to see if it turns pink. Not fool proof I'll grant you that but it's the best I can offer.

Russethouse
I wonder how many MP's are routinely offered Lodge membership ? It wouldn't surprise me to find they all are. And considering a lodge would usually be made up of fairly successful members of the local community wouldn't it be a little silly to refuse ? Will
You are probably right about masons wanting MPs in their lodges. It may be silly to refuse if you are a Tory MP in a safe Oxfordshire seat, but if I was an MP I would want to steer clear of any possible implications of impartiality, justified or not. Gluestick
http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/2010/feb/04/david-cameron-freemasons-westminsterSo the real truth is out: Call Me Dave is in fact a transvestite woman and is a female mason: Sam Cam is quite obviously camaflague.[:D]Rooms in the Commons and the Lords are regularly hired out for extrernal group functions: and guest speakers are sometimes prominent politicians.Indeed one of my professional bodies used to hold its annual luncheon in the Cholmondely Room in the Lords, which is the premier dining facility and adjoins the terrace: and for one of the years I was Chair of the executive council Lord Wetherall ("Jack" Wetherill, ex Speaker of the House) was the guest speaker.Probably, the reason we were able to hold this event in the Lords was due to the singular fact that our Hon. President was an Earl: and the patron the Duke of Norfolk; a coz of HM the Queen; and probably her Majesty is a 999 degreee mason: and another ant............. Quillan
I can't see Blair being a mason especially as he has become a catholic, its forbidden under Catholic Church Law to be a mason but that does not mean he may of been once. There is a very active lodge in the 'Inn' that his wife works in which meets in the church there. The Archbishop of Canterbury (Rowan Williams) is a senior mason, PM's have their own lodge in the House of Commons that meets 4 times every year as does the House of Lords but then many professional bodies have their own specific lodges, silversmiths, police, printers etc many formed as offshoots from the old London guilds.Anyway I see there are three little 'time bombs' that Labour have left for the incoming government. A close friend of mine has a sister who is a chairperson of a northern England regional health authority. She received a letter about 6 weeks ago telling her and her team to make cuts of 20%, it was a stock letter sent to all regional authorities. The last paragraph said that they were not to discuss this with the press and if they did they would be instantly dismissed. Quite clever really because if the Tories get in, who said they would protect the NHS, then Labour can point out that there are 20% cuts taking place. If they don't get in then Labour can start taking more people on claiming they have increased the size of the NHS when all they are really doing is giving people their jobs back.Another one is free travel, not many know that the 'bus pass' has been linked to the official retirement age (instead of getting it at 60). This particularly hits women because they now retire at 62 and 4 months (details on the dwp website, effects those born after 1959) and thus won't get their free bus pass till that age. As the plans to increase the age for men as well gets ever closer it is expected the same will happen. Seems another attack by a 'socialist' government on one of the more vulnerable groups in society i.e. pensioners.Yet another one concerning pensions is that from 2012 any company of 5 or more employees will, by law, have to run a private pension scheme (again info on the dwp website). Could this be the thin end of the wedge with the eventual idea of doing away with state pensions over the next 20 to 30 years?
