dr orloff
Rambo 4 is a good movie and There Will Be Blood is boring !!!!My taste is polar opposite but if you liked The Departed I can recommend the far superior original film from Hong Kong - Infernal Affairs. The 'F' words (and the 'C' word is there too) are entirely in context and the film would fall completely flat without them. Think what Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels would have been without the language.'Dashed northern monkeys' doesn't have quite the same impact wouldn't you agree [blink]

Some more to recommend.Taken .....Liam Neeson is brilliant , better than Bond , but you will never let your daughter travel to Paris alone after this. The Memory Keepers Daughter ..... good , a bit of a weepie ......no more plumbing for me.Traitor .........excellent , with some scenes in FranceWall-e ........animated but not just for kids .......there is hope for mankindI finally got to see In Bruges but do not agree with others who have recommended it .....I hated it. Tom
36 Quai des Orfèvres was on Film Four recently. It was like a fast paced American thriller(only on a slightly cheaper budget). Auteuil and Depardieu are in it.No country for Old Men, good and disturbing.

Clarkkent
Atonement - cheated at the OscarsThe Bank Job - super caper movie... anything from Studio Ghibli - to show that animation does not mean "children's film". Grave of the Fireflies (has a more compelling anti-war film ever been made?) Howl's Moving Castle for its visual impact and Spirited Away for its profundity.
