Frederick
Family member just returned from holiday has told us restaurants they used seemed to have week long card reader problems . That was the excuse anyway when they demanded payment in cash .
Dog
Good tip - last year in Crete a friend with a taverna said that 80% of the local shops and restaurants hadn't paid rent/rates or tax for 2 years. The Cretians reckoned the Germans should pay the defecit as they hadn't paid for the WW11 invasion yet.
Cendrillon
Friends visited Greece last year and said that everything was amazingly cheaper if you paid in cash.
Mr Coeur de Lion
So it sounds like the Greek people still expect everybody else to bail them out then.
JSKS
In fact, Greece would be quite happy to skip the Euro, devalue and look after itself but this is not a politically attractive solution, particularly in the halls of the EU where political ''face'' is much more important than sense.
