NormanH
Did anyone else watch the France 2 programme about the life of Queen Victoria yesterday? It was a bit populist, but interesting as a French, and very positive view of her reign. Can be watched for 6 more days onhttp://www.pluzz.fr/secrets-d-histoire--2011-08-16-20h35.html

Gemonimo
I watched it and thoroughly enjoyed it in spite of being a bit 'Hello' in its presentation. I'm a fan of Stephane Bern too and enjoy his documentaries.

5-element
Count me in, we watched it too (well, most of it, but went to bed before the end, and NOT because it was boring).Fascinating, I realised how very little I knew about Queen Victoria, and what a formidable presence she was. Christine Animal
Just took the time to watch that today (before it's too late!). Very moving, learnt so much that I didn't know about her either, her passions, artistic talents, so avant-garde and open-minded. Thoroughly enjoyed it and hope to be able to watch it again some time. Thank you very much for the link Norman.

Keni
Also, Patrick Gellinet, 2000 Ans d'Histoire - I download these from the laptop. They are radio programmes, sort of along the lines we listened to at School - Scott of the Antartic, Florence Nightingale - if anyone remembers them. Charles Darwin was interesting as they used some of the BBC documentary.Quite informative - love the music - if anyone knows the title/composer of the music to this series, I would love to know.
