Moderators or self importunes fools !

This has been bugging me for a while so I shall vent my frustration.

First post.

When we first moved to France I joined Total France. I wrote a long post on moving to France why we moved to France and what we were intending to do.

Second post was the trials and tribulations of opening a new business in France.

Third post out lining the works to restore the building and other drivel !

Most of my post were tampered with by the over zealous moderators moderators, I was not spamming nor was a trying to advertise simply relaying what it was like to move to France.

I have been with this forum well over a year never an issue and enjoy contributing ;-)

So thank you completefrance !

[quote user="NormanH"]I was banned from the French petrol site because I commented that a user name which combines 'horn' and 'porn' was injudicious and might lead to ribaldry[6]

The venerable popcorn, with no english and a google translator tool bar.[kiss]

Fount of all knowledge spiced with amusing errors. Google searches with a french computer will often throw up results relating to Quebec or Belgium. Tears of mirth in reply to a question ostensibly about winter shelter for a vehicule; the reply quoted the rules for a place called Laval. But his Laval was situated on the south side of the St Laurence river.

Well, some of you needed to have been around 5 yrs or so ago!  ('Suein56' clearly was, so she'll remember).

At times there was open warfare on here, which whilst it occasionally made for entertaining reading, it was difficult not to get 'sucked in' to some of the more contentious debates. Very time consuming - and that was just for me, let alone those who were at it hammer & tongs all the time!  Don't know how they found the time.

Classic threads:  the Pierre-Yves Saga, the Romanian Trampoulinist(e), and that Troll (?) who was seeking the woman he met on Minehead Pier (or was it Ilfracombe?)

I remember those days - always a bit of drama.

The layout of the threads was such that you could reply direct to a post (not quoting), and your post would appear just after it. So you could have several arguments going on within one thread.

But I don't envy the moderators their job in the other place, or here for that matter. I wouldn't do it if you paid me. Not that I could as I don't understand the technical side.

I think one of the reasons for tightening up has been that there have been court cases about libel on the internet.
