I've just read on another Forum that Balham a lady who posted on here occasionally had passed away last week. Terrible tragedy as she had only just managed to sell her house in France and return to London. Not a good week in forum land. RIP Balham

I remember her posting on a thread in  which sadly cooperlola also posted a few months only before her death.

As you say a sad week and if you take in other losses  also a sad year.

Her death was a very sad surprise - she had been suffering from lung cancer for some time and only told a few people.

I don't wish to be morbid, but "other losses" have obviously passed me by.

Who were they?

I was thinking of John Ross who died recently after an operation to remove a lung, but there are others who have reported the loss of a partner as well as Balham and Carol Sheridan recently.

Indeed, I was shocked by the loss of JR as we had exchanged PMs in the past and, you know how it is, you get to think you "know" someone, don't you?

Also, it felt especially sad as JR had had the op and then died of complications.  I know life is not fair, but it seems totally unjust that someone undergoes an operation of that complexity and then didn't get to enjoy any more of life's pleasures!  zut![:'(]

Another sad surprise - I didn't know that JR had died after his operation. I remember him posting before he had the op.

Be glad and grateful for our current health and make the most of life while we're here.
