opas Posted May 10, 2004 Share Posted May 10, 2004 I have found that in the 8 or so months living here that white baguettes do not agree with me(indigestion) I never bought white bread in the UK apart from the occasional Asda baguette .I now eat very little white bread but enjoy a sofinette.As for pan anglaise ,I was realy suprised when I went on a school trip at how many of the children had this for sandwiches(uughh). We are close to the boarder of spain and when we go there we visit Dia supermarket(one of the costcutters) as they have a lovely thick brown sliced loaf (great for toast)at a good price and fill the freezer.
