Bobdude
I asked this question in the 'owning French property' section but so far nobody seems to have the answer. We are about to let our house out in France, and the loft conversion windows go down to the floor on the inside. We are fitting traditional fancy iron grilles on the outside with a banister rail above but obviously this would not stop a child climbing it. We have fitted a locking window handle with keys which we will make sure are given to the tenants re: child safety. We have insurance for letting the property, but would hate to be found negligent in any way. Anyone offer advice please?Linda
Val_2
You say you have insurance, but do the insurers know about these windows, that they fully comply and that you are letting to a family with young children? Have they been to inspect them at all? You should really get their agreement that you have covered yourselves in writing and not say-so because written proof is required here in case of any problems down the line.
