cooperlola
Have they looked at YMCA/YHA. Seriously, still some of the best value city centre accommodation that I know of.http://www.ymca.org.uk/bfora/systems/xmlviewer/default.asp?arg=DS_YMCA_WEBART_97/_page.xsl/148http://www.yha.org.uk/find-accommodation/london/hostels/london_central/index.aspx
Frenchie
In fact, they will only know where they are working when they get there, because they will have an oral test to determie their level of English, and depending on that, will be hired as waiter/waitress or other jobs, in contact with the public or not. I just talked to the girl's dad on the phone, he said, not too central, ( since it will probably be a bit less expensive..) , they will take the tube.A youth hostel, do they have rooms for couples? cooperlola
From the link I gave you it looks as if the smallest rooms are for four. But beggars can't be chosers, and all that! Maybe the YMCA would be better? Especially as they are seeking work because that's part of their function. I'm an atheist so I have no interest in getting your friends converted or anthing![:D]
Frenchie
They're not seeking work, they're sure to get a job as soon as they get there, it is just the way the association works.

Quillan
There is a French Quartier in London (Belsize Park - which takes it's name from France - "bel assis"). Believe me when I say it's almost exclusively French. There are various online publications like 'Loot' ( http://www.loot.com ) where they might find Bedsits or flat share. They could also contact the French Embassy in London.
Quillan
I forgot the post code area for Belsize Park is NW3 which might be helpfull when searching online.

Pickles
It might be worth while contacting the accommodation offices of the London colleges - they always used to let out student rooms and flats during the summer vacation.RegardsPickles

HoneySuckleDreams
I look here when I do short term contracts in London.http://www.gumtree.com/londonIf you look for shared accommodation you can normally find a double room for couples. It depends on the time of year, but there is always a chance of picking up a short-let room when one of our antipodean friends flies home for a barbie. or you could try http://www.spareroom.co.uk/

THANKS .Hey, Théière, could not answer your SMS, got no more credit on my mobile [:(] , but please do talk to these landlords you were talking to me about. If it's on the same train line as New Cross ( where I used to live when I was much younger), that could be OK .
