Carly
Can anyone recommend a UK lawyer to give a translation of / opinion on a compromis? I can translate the document literally (with lots of help from a dictionary) myself, but am concerned that I might maybe be missing out on some of the more treacherous subtleties! Many thanks,Carly
Nick Trollope
UK based lawyers have an exceptionally bad press where it comes to French property transactions. Also, unless you use one who is an expert in French law, then the translation will not be much use.All you need to do is use another Notaire, and since they must share the fees, will cost you nothing. Find one who speaks English.Nickhttp://www.aplaceinfrance.com
