I notice that this forum doesn't seem to have the possibility of posting a "STICKY" so that it would always appear at the beginning of a forum section - is this a possibility for important information that would be long term?

I think we do have the facility but its up to Forum Admin or Mods to make post 'stickies'  AFAIK - what did you have in mind Chris ?

At the moment I just wanted to put the details of the wild animal and bird rescue centres in Poitou-Charentes. Where to take a bird or mammal that has been injured or is in distress, who to contact etc. It's the sort of thing someone may need to find information on in a hurry.

It could go on the Wildlife forum or on Western France???

Why not write it up, put it in both places and I'll look into making it a sticky ?

Yes, here too - and my family all think Iam nuts going out in my dressing gown to top up bird baths and break the ice on the pond....they are probably right

PS If those Blackbirds don't eat my slugs and snails this summer I may not do it again [:)]

Did that sticky ever get stuck ?  If so, I can't find it.  I have sent an email to Chris today as there is someone who has found an injured Buzzard near Chef Boutonne and he needs help.

For anybody in the Pays de Loire area, there is the Refuge de L'Arche at Chateau-Gontier who will take in injured wild animals and birds.

I took a Long-Eared Owl there, that I found in my garden.
