Dreamers
Hope this message appears this time !! Can anyone advise whether their are Fire Regs. concerning doors from integral garage to lounge of a new build, should their be a proper Fire Door ?? Also friends of ours have taken possession of such a build and there is no 'ceiling' to the integral garage therefore leaving all of the roof structure exposed to a fire risk. Any knowledge of Regulations please

Moulin
Dreamers, When we knocked a doorway through from the house to the barn a couple of years ago our builder informed us that, in the Vendee, it was compulsory to fit a Fire Door between any Barn or Garage and the main house. Whether compulsory or not it is always good practice to do this and will probably be a requirement of your insurance!Regarding the structure of your garage, as long as there is a full wall, floor to roof, between the garage and the house there is no need for a ceiling. In fact a ceiling would deprive you of valuable storage space.
Richard-R
I would second that. The best thing is to ask your insurance company what THERE requirements are re: fire prevention.
