Racerbear02
Does anyone know what is the official attitude to military planes creating sonic booms? for the first time this year we have had them on a number of occasions over the past two months. As far as I was aware in the UK they were forbidden to fly supersonic over land ( I may be wrong about this ), is this the case here? Thanks

It's part of French rural life and has been for a very long time. I first heard one 24 years ago whilst staying in a gite near Cahors - it brought the plaster down off the ceiling!!!Coco
Val_2
We get them a lot here in west Finistre because of the big aeronaval base at Bodilis and Brest naval port. For one minute the other day I thought Concorde was back, I do miss their 10pm boom every night which used to rattle everything.
Racerbear02
Thanks for the information, we get buzzed by planes from Reims occasionally but this year is the first I have heard the booms. Is anyone liable for any damge they might cause, or is it just not worth the effort?
