Baz
I had previously posted this in another topic, but now realise that I am more likely to get an answer by reposting under a new subject.I hope somebody can solve an annoying problem. When I go to "Posts since last visit" and respond to a post, I am unable to go back and look at the posts I have not yet read. The only way round this problem I have found is firstly read all the posts before responding. This cannot be right, as there may be more than one post to which I wish to respond. Using the Back key on the computer does not work as it brings up the need to refresh. With all other sites using a similar format the use of Back key is all what is required. I am hoping this is just glitch with this forum that can be rectified in due course. If anyone has found an alternative way round this problem, please post and let me know.Baz
Jill

Jill (99)
I had previously posted this in another topic, but now realise that I am more likely to get an answer by reposting under a new subject. I hope somebody can solve an annoying problem. When I go to "...
Thats odd, because I have the opposite problem. I ask for "posts since my last visit" and it lists topics that have been added to since my last visit, but I still have to trawl through every single page to find where I last got to. I've taken to going to the last page and working my way backwards to save time, but this isn't very logical as reading the last post doesn't mean anything. So I have to go back until I find a post I don't recognise and work my way forwards again. It's all very well at times I can go on to have a quick look fairly often, but if I miss for a few days, I am really dreading it!Yes, I think there is also going to be have to be more starting of new posts to get things recognised. In the old system, you could recognise the way the tree was forming and follow directions which had interested you and people could respond directly to the question you had posed. Now posts get lost in a long list, and although we can respond using the quote, it could be well out of the way. Perhaps if people can answer questions, sometimes it will feel more natural to send a private message.Incidentally, do you just have to go and glance to see if you have a private message, or does something tell you when you receive them - like the flag there was before? I know in the old system, some people never even noticed the flag. But if there isn't a system to tell us, I can visualise that "message in your in box" will become a popular posting again!Another thing I've just realised. If you arrive on the forum and ask for posts since your last visit, you get all the topics that have been added since your last visit (as per above - all posts within the topics). It's then OK if you don't post within that section as you can just go back to where you were to see the list of topics. But if you post, you then are in the situation whereby you would click on Post Bag or Forum and then you get all topics whether they have been added to or not. But if you then click on Posts since the last visit, it only gives the ones which have been posted in the short time since you have been on this time - not the ones which were done before your current session. I don't know whether that makes sense. I mean, I visit the forum at 1pm, I ask for recent posts and get the topics that have been posted on since the previous time. At 1.15, I post. If I click on Posts since my last visit, I only get the ones done between 1 and 1.15, and not the ones done before 1 - which I may not yet have had the oppportunity to read. Therefore, it thinks you have only just come to the forum every time you go back to the list of posts after you have posted.
