Dragon
Can anyone shed any light on the above subject? We have recently been informed by a french lady that as from September no one will be able to make more than 3% profit on their 2nd home. Also, that there has been a lot of trouble in the North of France over English people buying homes?
Turnip
Don't know about the 3% but I would have thought that had there been any truth in the 3% quote then it would have resulted in a flurry of discussion on these boards before today. As for the anti UK second home buyer stories, this subject has been discussed elsewhere on this board and the consensus of opinion is that it is simply rumour mongering by the tabloids in search of a controversial headline. Dragon
Thanks for your reply. I was surprised that we hadn't had a discussion on this topic earlier. However, it was confirmed today by a friend (a French Estate Agent). He did not know the full extent and detail fo the new law but will let me know asap. As soon as I get more detail I will post it on this site.
Patf
It might have something to do with the recent reports of the minister for housing (?) trying to think of ways of making affordable houses available for young people. This was mentioned on the forum but I can't find it. Pat.
