Teamedup
What games do french kids play to learn how to throw a ball not only a long way, but accurately. I taught my kids to throw as they seemed to not be getting that particular skill.
SaligoBay
No idea. I was surprised that in école primaire they were still being taught to do sit-ups with their legs straight out and someone holding their knees down so they didn't bend them. Son has always said that sport in school is always just e.g. playing basketball, not learning or practising basketball techniques.Maybe they see no need to learn to throw? They don't play cricket, after all......
opas
TU perhaps you will remember my afternoon as helper for CP class last year? I was amazed that I was to assist a group of 6 children learn to throw a ball and `launch` a hoola hoop. we had to throw `overarm` shotput style(ball just under chin). It was a lesson to me as well I can tell you, It was taken very seriously indeed by the other prent helper. In the UK I had a friend who ran a playgroup(which my daughter attended) and sometimes would stay and `help`, It was so much fun to see 3 year olds faces when they learnt to catch a thrown ball....ok from 3 feet away, but an acheivement.Unfortunatly team games in our daughters school seem to be on the line of `tag`, no rounders, netball, basketball , and to be honest I don`t think it would go down well if I sugested going in to organise it. Hopefully college will bring some proper team games. Mrs O
Patf
I wish someone would teach me how to throw accurately. Sometimes the ball goes backwards. At the moment I'm waging war on one of the neighbour's dogs who comes into our garden to c--p, goes into the downstairs kitchen and p--s and steals our dog's food. I have a supply of stones in the balcony which I try to hit him with, but so far nowhere near. Any ideas? would a catapult be better? Husband says an air rifle but I think that's a bit extreme. Would probably miss with that too. Pat.
opas
Pat, put chilli in the dogs dish(use a throwaway, not your dogs own) meat bones soaked in chilli oil could do the trick nicely....keep your own dog out of the way! Mrs O
Patf
Sounds a brilliant idea, Mrs. O. Will start planning it tomorrow. I really hate that dog! Pat.
