Tourangelle
I got mine today, which is cutting it a bit fine, I have sent it off already, I did it very carefully knowing that as it is going to Birmingham it may well be subject to scrutiny! IAN_S
I stand to be corrected but I'm sure I saw something on the tv the other night that it was the last day for accepting postal votes.
Tourangelle
Perhaps it was for registering, the form I got said they had to have it before 10pm on the 5th, close of polling in other words, and that you could take it to the polling station rather than post it, which does seem rather to defeat the object! Quillan
I loved the Judges comment in the UK on postal votes after the fraud case in Birmingham "It makes the election in Zimbabwe look legitimate".
letrangere
"It makes the election in Zimbabwe look legitimate".Doesn't it make you feel so ashamed? I remember joking with American friends that representatives from Sri Lanka and Cambodia should be dispatched to monitor subsequent elections in the States after the fiasco in Florida in 2000. But then I read somewhere in connection with the Birmingham business that international observers had monitored previous UK elections, was it the Euro voting last year? It was on the BBC site, I'm sure. M
Iceni
Well as our forms have not arrived it looks like we will not be voting - what is the ruddy point in getting us to register, sending a confirmation and then no paperwork. On Tuesday I am going to contact the relevant folk in Essex and find out what the hell is going on. I do have a contact who is involved with Elections and knows the rules so I will also see what she says.Typical ruddy shambles.
