Any Regrets / What Would You Do Differently ?

Recommended Posts

No to the first part of the question and only that I'd like to have done it ten years earlier, to part two!!!

Seriously, I think the only thing I might have done is buy a property a little closer to a village.  We are half a kilometre from the next nearest house, 1km from the bulk of the properties in the village and 3.5kms to the nearest village with any kind of shop.  HOWEVER, as 99% of all visitors to our B&B remark on the lovely location, perhaps we wouldn't get so many referrals or repeat business if we were in a village.

I am with Coco about doing it 10 years earlier but we would not have been able to do it then.

I like our remote location but we do know we will have to move nearer to a village with shops at some time.

I am really pleased that I don't have to go through the rest of my life with regrets that I did not give it a go.

Would have bought in 72/74 when you could have got a whole hilltop village for nowt, and when there were very few Brits about. By Brits I mean those who cant be bothered to integrate and who behave like the worst of colonials I knew when I was a kid.

No regrets either.

Wouldn't be worried by not using an agent next time when buying.

Integrating, I didnt do much of that where we lived in the UK so I'm not changing to suit others, felt a bit of an outsider where we lived after moving there from 4 miles away!! but I could get good references from our immediate neighbours if needed

We made a good move.
