Storm warning - the phone rings twice

No, this is not a windup. The other night, I was woken from a deep and happy slumber by our phone ringing twice. I got up, answered the phone and John snapped "well unplug the ruddy thing and pull out the SKY and TV plugs". I replied in a dozy trice, "don't be silly, it is not even raining" at which point a brilliant flash of lightning lit up the room and thunder boomed shortly afterwards.

I pulled plugs and started to get our storm kit together, matches and lantern with candle, torch - err - where is my torch. So I asked John who had it last and he sort of looked bemused and offered the info that he could not remember (update, he has just found it ).

Now, are we the only premises in the Lot or even France who get a '2 ring' warning before a storm gets to us.

I actually forgot how often we get storms here. We also get the 3103 answerphone 2 rings AFTER we have picked up our messages.

That's very strange Di. Talking about storms, we had the mother and father of all storms in the early hours of this morning. Both of us woke thinking a repeat of 9/11 had come, like a massive explosion right overhead. Certainly the fiercest I've heard. Normally I enjoy storms, but this time we were both hiding under the covers! Pat.
