Missy
Well!... I thought it was a good book and that it would help all of you Anglophones, who want to settle in France, to understand your neighbours' psyche! The book is called : 'Sixty Million Frenchmen can't be wrong! What makes the French so French!' by Jean Benoit Nadeau and Julie Barlow, published by Robson BooksISBN 1-86105-715-6Comparison with the anglophone world are a bit too North American as the authors are Canadian but on the whole it does explain the French mind, way of living, thinking etc...A slight printing mistake I noticed (possibly others which I did not underline) : The town of Besançon is according to the authors, the main town for departement 45!(when they explain about the postal system) To put things right Besançon is main town for 25, le Doubs. (45000 is the postcode for Orléans in the Loiret dept)But it is my own observation that North Americans are not very good with their geography! Also the title... near 30 million men! that's more than enough to cope with and about 35 millions French women! because without us : Women! French men (and men in general for that matter) are of no use!!!!!!!!!!!!!... !!!;-D!!!:-D:-D!!!!!!
Clarkkent
Yes, an excellent book. It has been discussed a number of times on this forum over the last couple of years.Perhaps there ought to be a reference to it in the FAQs.
