Will
I thought AI was artificial insemination (something we know plenty about in Normandy - don't even ask) Seriously, try rearranging these words - Info Anglo Edit - oops, Vicky Pollard beat me to it. Val_2
Nick, I banned myself from posting on there anymore. Couldn't stand the type of replies from morons who disagreed with everything that I responded to and they had only been living in France a few weeks and knew it all. Feel a lot better these days talking on here to intelligent people who don't want to sell third hand baby gates, know how to get their pigs up the duff or hard shells on their eggs and those freeloaders asking for vehicles for nothing. That site has really gone downhill fast over the last six months since "Bob" left.

Vraititi
PSG till I die -fluctuat nec mergitur.
And me thinking that LF was the only big expat's forum around ! They seem to have half of the French British population on their books, impressive. Need to have a good shufti now and see what beasts lurk in there. Mind, from what you're telling us, I reckon that if I register under my LF name Vraititi, they'll ban me quicker than it takes to yell 'Vraititi out !' at an 18-30 stag party (heu, for those who don't know, Vraititi is not a smutty/chavishly hip/born again lad/cartoonish moniker, non, non, non, just means 'real Parisian', that's all !). Motorhead
Welcome to the club mate. I got banned from another forum not so long ago (not AI) and didn't even get a reason so think yourself lucky. How many times did you use the dreaded f word? I'd have thought it would have to be 144 times to qualify as gross.Anyway one should never use a word that relates to fornication on a site about artificial insemination - they just don't understand the concept. One of the more interesting jobs I've had was in a place that extracted bull's semen for AI (but not the bullsh1t, they get that elsewhere). I wasn't actually the bullworker (and you can change a couple of letters to get the term we used at the time) no I was the "teaser" in charge of getting Mr Bull all excited with a rag fresh from the nether regions of a suitably ripe girl cow. It was the most dangerous job I've ever done and that includes working a pub door in Clydebank. If you get the urge to get all sweary again try expatica.com , never posted there but it's a real hoot to read! Nick Trollope
I came across that Lemmy bloke in a club in Wardour Street - what was it called? Given how pissed I was at the time, that was pretty dangerous..

(I'll probably have to ban myself from here now for that). The only club I remember in Wardour Street was the original Marquee, but that's just showing my age.In response to the comments about AI, it's a sort of family or regional advertising sites. It covers six regions of France at present, Cyprus is supposed to be coming soon, and it has dreams of expanding worldwide. You can buy the franchise for a particular area if you want, which means you have to sell advertising and, to get the 'readers' in, host the forum and the 'information' pages. We seriously considered buying into it when the Normandy franchise came up for sale not too long ago, but I have to say I'm glad I decided against it. Vraititi
PSG till I die -fluctuat nec mergitur.
Have just had a look at expatica.com only for about 5/6 minutes, impressive. Impressive that I lasted so long on it, I mean. One bloke was certain that all French people want to emigrate to the US, because, well, you know, just because. Another one asked the excitable leery crowd what French women are really like (and is it true that they don't shave ?), I could feel ze lust oozing from his prurient Q right through my monitor. Another erudite asked why French people have no sense of humour. Then admitted he didn't speak French. Actually, didn't live in France either. Well, as they say, I've seen more culture in a 2-month old yogurt but, hey, at least they're not serious about moving to France.
Will
I can see a bit of forum-bashing creeping in here.We don't mind anybody mentioning, or even praising, other forums here. All have a different appeal and a different purpose. We would much rather that members did not use this forum for slagging off any of the others though. If you have something constructive to say, fair enough, but we get enough complaints to deal with about our own forum without having to think about others too Thanks for your cooperation. Vraititi
PSG till I die -fluctuat nec mergitur.
I have to faire my Mea culpa on this one, Will. I was being ironic of course (you know me, more sarkie than Sarko himself), I just adore expatica.com, in fact I have hardly been able to prise myself away from it since I discovered it thanks to MH and am seriously thinking of moving myself there permanently, only that unspeakable but comprehensible fear of inadvertently making a fool of myself amidst an ocean of erudition is keeping me in here at the moment. I very unfairly picked 3 posts at random that, although not especially lofty on 'prime abord', were far more profound and substantiated than they appeared to be; if only I would have stretched my intelligence levels sufficiently and taken the time to unpick the subtleties and nuances contained in the bowels of the delicate turns of phrase and sapiential enlightenment that underpin many a post on that forum, I would not have come on in here like a cocky little so and so. Oui, cometh the hour, cometh the half-man, l'heure est grave, je dois me repentir ou fuir. What should I do ?

(Vraititi)The news there is ok, the other forums (for English speaking expats in The Netherlands, Germany etc) tend to be OK, but there is something very, very wierd about the French forum. It seems to have about 8 regular posters, including some very Anti French posters, who just scream at each other, one lunatic who spams the site every day with endless 'news stories, all cut and pasted, and furthermore people there stalk each other to other sites. Vraititi, it's about 4 months since I visited there, is that roughly whats going on now? What should I do ?.... Don't go back, it does not get any better with time, use of logic or reason. If you do go back there, promise us never to lead any of them to this site, please.
