Turnip
Programme on ITV ( Trevor McDonald) yesterday featuring how Brits are victims of a rising crime wave. Many live in newly built estates where a high percentage of houses are owned by absent second homers. So those that live there all year are never sure if someone next door is a holiday renter or thief. Local thieves drive round to snatch bags etc.Police cant cope but some residents are grouping together to mount their own patrols. I have not seen similar reports about France thankfully. Val_2
Unfortunately a result crerated by great enclaves of brits all living on top of one another, not like here in France thankfully yet. Brits are seen as rich easy targets everywhere now - I'll wait for the flak to this reply now.
Richard-R
There is a very high crime rate on the Coted'Azur. Lot's of houses owned by second homers are targeted, plus there cars.
