Christine Animal
I can't find the thread "The Irish are Coming", wasn't it in the Post Bag?I wanted to add this:… and they are still coming. Have just received French Property News where they say the French Property Exhibition in Dublin attracted nearly 3,000 home-hunters seeking both boltholes and investment opportunities.I quote: It seemed that the majority were looking for investment opportunities, seeing no value in the Irish market. Some appreciated the benefit of being able to use the property as a holiday home, while others were interested in the investment side only, and didn’t even plan to visit their French property. Few people seemed interested in going the whole hog and moving to France. Unquote.Perhaps the term « home-hunters » is not quite suitable, but it was said of some « They wanted small second homes, a bolthole they could use to get away from wet Irish winters and the high cost of living. »It was also said « The Irish have been some of the nicest visitors I’ve ever met, everyone was really pleasant to deal with ». High cost of living? Comparable I would have thought these days but an advantage that they don't have to change their money.
Teamedup
Where in France does get pleasantly warm winters, maybe Corsica? and the DOM TOM certainly does, but not the metropole that I know of. Someone enlighten me.

Christine Animal
Oh, FK, don't be sad. You usually make us feel so happy. It's lovely to have a parrot, we had one, and not only did he talk, but when he said things, he said them at the right time. If we went to bed, but hadn't bothered with him, he would say "good night", and if I opened the door to call the dogs in he would whistle before me saying "come on, come on", and if they made a noise in the house he used to shout "will you stop it!" He used to travel down to Spain with us on holiday, sitting on his perch in his cage, and on the motorway every time we went under a bridge he used to duck. (That was before pet passports!).FK, you will soon be back in sunny France, where plenty of camembears will be waiting for you.
Furry Knickers
Well Marion (me parrot) kept me up all night with her constant singing! she knows all the words to The Birdy Song! This morning she really embarrassed me though when the Bread Man was showing me his Baguette! If I can't control her outbursts then I shall release her on my next visit to Amazon World. She will be near her friends and maybe even find a husband. Do you want to sell your Parrot Mrs Animal? He sounds lovely. I think poor old Marion was previously owned by a Fishwife and not a Carmelite Nun as the lad told me in the Pet shop!Anyway, the sun is out today and I am now able to play in the garden with me hollyhocks. I never even planted me little bushy Abelia yet, it has been that wet here!I heard on the news that 100 of the 550 Gerbils that were rescued by the RAC have now been re-housed, I hope the other 450 will be OK!
