SaligoBay
Bought a chook, cooked it today, and in hacking to bits, found a metal thing with a name and number on it. On the other side it said "Loué".Which got me wondering. Was it the chicken's name, have we just eaten someone called Louis? Or did we have a second-hand chicken, that had already been rented out to someone else? But why would you rent a chicken? Has my life really been that sheltered? Come in Number 241, your time is up! There are signs by the waterside down in La Grande Blotte-sur-le-Med. Only 39 euros to rent a coque rigide for an hour, and you don't even need a licence! Teamedup
LOL haven't you bought a loue before. They have their tags left on them. My local butcher leaves the tags on the bird's legs too. What gets me is when my local butcher sells veal, the only thing you don't get on the notice board is the animal's name, but always seems that just about all the other details about the animal are mentioned. Depends on the boat as to what you can rent without a licence.

Dick Smith
I've eaten a lot of school meals and the chicken often seems to be rented...A friend of mine claims that Young's beer is only rented, too. (Best Young's line - customer to landlord, "Did the horse deliver this barrel or fill it?")
Miki
Louis coq's eh. !Go to Bourg en Bresse and you can cop for top chooks. Not "single" named, oh no Monsieur (ou Madame) but bluddy snooty nosed hyphenated chooks. Best we ever ate was one Emily Louis-Smyth Doodle, what a bootiful appelation chick she was. Wore the tag for many years with pride, like I knew the old bird, she was that tasty.Never had that moment ever again, not even from Carrefour....................had a calf called Vera once but still not the same, it's the first one you always remember n'est ce pas ?Rental rigid coques for 39 euros, Mmmmm must price that up in the morning when the usual 400 viagra ads come in the post....
