margaret horner
Having just spent yet another fab holiday in L`Isere region not far from Voiron, just wondered if there are any English folk living in the area? Have noticed that this region doesn`t often get a mention when people are making a move to France.

margaret horner
Why do you find this an unusual holiday destination? This area is great, situated between the Chartreuse and the Vercours,no shortage of things to do or see and plenty of sunshine. How do you know there are many English people around Voiron? I`ve been visiting french friends in this area for years and have yet to meet any fellow english folk.
Teamedup
Naturally it is different if visiting friends, and I wouldn't like to give the impression that Voiron was awful or anything, it isn't at all, but in comparison to so many places I know in this region it is just very ordinary. Property prices as far as I know are rather high. How do you meet brits, don't know. I just know that they are there and if I felt inclined I could find out where exactly, but have never had that particular inclination I'm afraid. ps we used to have to pass through Voiron to get to friends until they moved. Deby
Absolute lots of Jolly foreigners in and around Voiron, Grenoble and Crolles. Mainly due to HP, Sun, The Nuclear place which I can never spell but only pronounce, Syncatron. There is an association in Grenoble called Open House and has around 500 members, alot of Americans and other English speakers, very multi-national.I know several families in Voiron too. There is a huge community in the Isere (38). Just visit the Irish pub in Grenoble and you will find plenty.BestDeby
