Clair
From 2nd August 2005, il will be easier to cancel a "tacitely renewed" contract, as used for car insurance, internet access, bank card or mobile phone. From that date on, you will have to be informed in writing of YOUR RIGHT NOT TO RENEW at least 1 month before the contract expires. If the delay is not respected or the information not supplied, you will be entitled to cancel at any time from the date the contract was renewed. All premiums paid from the renewal date must be paid back within 30 days. For insurance contracts (except life and group contracts), this "right to renounce" must be offered at least 15 days before the contract expires. If the delay is not respected, you have 20 days from the despatch date of the letter to renounce the contract. If the insurer does not inform you of your right, you can renounce it at any time after renewal by sending a registered letter with proof of delivery. The cancellation will be effective the day after the postmark.Clair
