KathyC
There have been some delays in the purchase of our house and we now find that new reports on termites, lead and asbestos are required as they are only valid for 3 months. Does anyone know whether the vendor is able to pass these charges on to us as the delays have been at on our side (although not our fault). If this is the case, could somebody tell us how much this is likely to cost as we have never sold in France. Thanks
Bobdude
In the departments where these surveys are required by law it is compulsory for the Vendor to get them done and pay for them, not the purchaser.
Anton Redman
Termite surveys may only be valid for three months but according to the surveys I have read lead and asbestos are vaild for twelve months.

They could also for instance, insist on you covering their mortage if you have delayed and they are not at fault .How much is a termite survey? 150E? Bobdude
Yes, the asbestos survey is definitely valid for 12 months. We re-sold a house this year that we had bought just over twelve months before, and the original asbestos survey from our purchase (done by the vendor) had just expired, so we had to do one for our sale.
