Keyholders in Montmorillon

I have just two weeks ago completed on a house in the lovely old city of Montmorillon in Poitou-Charentes.  My next trip to go down there will be in September by which time rewiring in the place should be completed and I can get on with redecorating, buying furniture etc.  I fully intend to go and live there once I'm retired which is in about eight years' time but in the meantime it would be nice to have some trustworthy people that could keep an eye on the property for me as obviously I'm not gonna be there a lot of the time.  Does anybody know either of anybody that would be interested in doing this or how I could obtain the names of people who would do this sort of thing?

First of all be very careful of giving anyone you dont know your keys but i expect you know that[:)]

There are companies that will do this sort of thing going once a week/month what ever you want, I would recondmend going down this route untill you get to know some of your neighbours who in time you may feel happy to ask. In my area there is a company called Maison maids you can email them on hattonfr@aol.com they will air/clean your house do the garden ect........depending on how much you want to spend on this. I dont know if they have an office in your area but they will know of another maybe, they are very friendly and speak english.

Im sure others on here will be able to tell you of others nearer to you.

Thanks Pads, appreciate the advice.  Yes, I quite agree with you, I certainly would not trust just anybody, so a company is probably the best solution.  I shall certainly try that address you've given me and see what answer comes of that and of course like you say, there may still be more answers forthcoming from other people on the forum.  Again, thanks very much for your help.
