Tresco
That's some achievement Karen. I really admire people who can do all that cunning wordplay. Your OH must be a bright spark in two languages.[:)]How did you find out Mr Hoggart had mentioned the book?I've made it into a link to make it easier to view.http://politics.guardian.co.uk/columnist/story/0,,1962240,00.html
cooperlola
Good stuff, and a huge compliment coming from that particular quarter - a writer I have admired for years.
Fay
It looks a hoot, very clever. Matt Lucas took its predecessor, The Meaning of Liffe, as his 'desert island book' the other week. Maybe your fella should send him a copy of Liffré?
Karen_Ian
Thanks for all the comments - and the better link!Yes, I agree Simon Hoggart is a good writer and as the Sat guardian was always a 'treat' for us (no sunday papers for us!) we still read it on line and so spotted it ourselves. Amazingly we'd only sent it to him last Mon!And a copy went off to Matt Lucas this morning! Great minds eh?Thanks again. I'm really delighted for him. WJT
Well done, very exciting for you both! The book sounds very funny and interesting and by the way, Chrisspp told me what left the funny droppings on our doorstep when we arrive but didn't tell me they were called "Miradous".[:D] I am sure the book will do very well. Try to keep us posted.
