Margie
I am now living permanently in France but my UK passport has my old address in England. Do I need to change this and as I no longer have an address in England what should I do as I would not think that you can have a French address on a UK passport? Margie
How right you are! I feel a complete idiot now. I must have been thinking of my driving license.
Will
Not at all, I am sure passports used to carry an address. Because the current passport does not have your address, it is probably worth reminding British citizens living in France who do not have a Carte de Sejour (no longer legally required for us) that you need to carry both your passport and something like a utility bill with you as proof of both identity and address. There is no problem with holding a British passport while living in France - for renewals etc you deal with the British Consulate in Paris, as described in the FAQ section of the forum here: http://forums.livingfrance.com/shwmessage.aspx?ForumID=271&MessageID=162781

French passports have the address on them, mistaking yourself for just shows how well you are adapting to life here!
